The Special Education Department’s primary mission is to create producing the universal nature of  knowledge, researching, participatory, collaborative and contemporary learning culture for special  needs education and their participation to social life, and to train teachers who are professional  efficacy and those who are respect to social and professional values.

The Special Education Department was established in 2005-2006 academic year. Since 2009, we  have had totally 211 undergraduate alumni who are currently working as a special education teacher  in private and public special education schools and, as a researcher in public universities. 2 assistant  professors, 2 instructor and 5 research assistants are currently working in the department.
